Trip or Treat was created in an alternate controller game jam as a part of design week in Sheridan College. I worked in a team of 6 where we created the design, software, and hardware over the span of 4 days.
We were tasked with making an interactive game revolving around an alternate controller created using a mix of circuits, gyroscopes, sensors, and more.
Each of the silver panels on the doll are made of conductive fabric. When you touch the fabric it sends an input to the computer which reads it as an input in the game.
The players hand must be touching the silver pad on the back as that's what creates the circuit through your body when you touch the pads on the front.

Trip or Treat is a horde rush where you trip the enemies with a voodoo doll. By pressing on the correct body part of the doll associated with the enemy you've selected, you'll trip them up, causing them to fall away from your Halloween party. The goal of the game is to trip as many enemies as you can before the enemies get inside. As the game progresses, the enemies spawn rate scales up and becomes faster causing the game to increase in difficulty.
There are 3 different enemies each with their own speed and targeted body part. Some enemies have 2 forms with opposite limbs highlighted.
Graffiti Guy
Speed: Slow Target: Body
With the slowest movement, one targetable part, and a large identifiable body these enemies are the easiest to trip.
Toilet Paper Guy
Speed: Medium Targets: Left or Right Arm
These enemies are very manageable in small amounts but will quickly become overwhelming in large swarms of enemies.
Skateboard Guy
Speed: Fast Targets: Left or Right Leg
These enemies are very dangerous with their fast speed and dark colours, they become hard to spot in crowds of enemies.
